Catherine + Ashley’s Etrop Grange Wedding by North West Wedding Singer, Kirsty Rogers
The beginning of May saw the start of ‘crazy wedding madness’, kicking off with Catherine and Ashley’s big day at Etrop Grange on Saturday 2nd May. They booked me to sing 2 x 45 sets during the evening. It was a brilliant night, their guests were definitely up for a good time!
I met up with Catherine and Ashley in the March to go over song suggestions and just a general chat. I was very pleased when they handed me a sheet of paper with all their song choices from my repertoire, very organised! They are a fab couple and I felt very much at ease. Ashley made a lovely cup of tea and we soon got a little off topic as we found that we have our love of dogs in common! I loved the fact that their dog Monty would be attending the wedding ceremony (if we had Samson when we got married he would have been there on the front row causing havoc!) Once back to business they asked me to perform their first dance ‘Better Together’ – Jack Johnson. Performing a couples first dance is always an honour for me, I could tell that this particular song meant a lot to them both.
On the night I was lucky to work alongside DJ Mark Peters, when I wasn’t singing he played an excellent array of music which kept people on the dance floor all night, in fact I was ready to get out there myself, especially when Hanson, ‘Mmm Bop’ came on! I have worked alongside a lot of DJ’s and Mark has to be one of the most easy going guys, everything was relaxed and he was great to work alongside.
Here are a few words from Catherine and Ashley…
“Kirsty sang for our evening wedding reception at Etrop Grange on Saturday 2nd May 2015. I first found Kirsty when I googled for a wedding singer earlier this year and now I realise just how lucky I was to find her! She met up with us prior to our wedding and discussed exactly what we wanted…all of which she did on the day. In the months prior to the wedding she was always on the end of an email to discuss any changes and she liaised very well with the hotels in house DJ.
What I thought was extra special was that Kirsty went to the extra effort of learning from scratch our first dance song ‘Jack Johnson Better Together’ and performing it brilliantly…in a day that passed so quickly, that for me will be such a special lasting memory of the evening.
I was always worried about the dance floor being empty, as it often is at weddings, well not with Kirsty! Her energy and performance kept everyone up dancing, it was lovely to receive many compliments from guests about her.
I cannot thank you enough Kirsty, 5 stars truly earned!”
It was my pleasure guysif you are thinking of wedding entertainment for any part of your day just get in touch.
I got snappy happy at the wedding, take a look at the pictures below and feel free to share!
